Formed in 1982, the Friends of the Library (FOL) have been actively supporting the Lake City Public Library in countless ways.  Since its first meeting in the downstairs children's library of the old Carnegie building, to the current monthly meetings in the boardroom of the new library, the purpose and mission of the FOL remain the same.

The purpose of the Friends of the Lake City Public Library is to promote general public awareness of the library’s programs, services and assets, and to complement the success of the library in providing the various needs and interests of the library’s patrons.

The Friends welcome new members of all ages as they continue to "...face in the same direction toward common projects, interests, and goals".  We invite you to consider becoming a Friend of the Library, too.
