COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

 

FINANCE

  1. In November, review budget and project anticipated expenditures and revenues
  2. In January, present budget needs to City Council
  3. Meet with Director and prepare budget
  4. Present budget or approval at February meeting

 

BUILDING/GROUNDS

  1. Monitor building needs (including grounds)
  2. In March do a walk through
  3. Report to Board in April
  4. As needed research possible solutions for handling structural repairs or problems
  5. Update inventory annually (furniture, appliances, etc.)

 

PERSONNEL/NOMINATING

  1. Coordinate Board evaluation of Director
  2. Coordinate Board self-evaluation
  3. New trustee orientation
  4. In April, prepare slate of officers every 2 years of even numbered years
  5. Present slate at May meeting
  6. Maintain a list of potential trustees

 

COMMUNITY OUTREACH – STANDING

  1. Present end of year report to City Council
  2. Lead the Board in advocacy
  3. Coordinate publicizing of library service and events
  4. Coordinate special events as needed
  5. Suggest ways to outreach to the community
  6. Submit ideas for the bi-annual library newsletter

 

TECHNOLOGY - STANDING

  1. Evaluate technology quarterly
  2. Review technology plan and present to Board

 

FRIENDS

  1. Attend Friends meetings
  2. Report at next board meeting

 

PLANNING

  1. Oversee long-range planning
  2. Gather information from the community about needs for the library
  3. Address planning needs for library certification
